We've decided to build a set of Flock Management software that runs using Excel. The Microsoft database system,
Access, is uncommon on farming computers and most of us have used a little Excel. This puts limits on the size of the
flock (currently 2000 breeding animals is the practical limit) but familiarity with the tools and the wide spread use of Excel
makes the choice an easy one.
The program produces multi-generation pedigrees -- up to four generation layouts. The production can be customized to
fit just about any type of application or animal. There are no hidden pages, or program modules. Even the coding is
available for your inspection and you can copy or use the techniques for your own projects.
With 80,000+ bytes of programming, Pedigree.xls handles many tasks on your behalf with minimum effort on your part.

- Pentium 3, 266 MHz processor
- 1024 x 768 Screen
- 10 MB free space on your hard drive
- Excel 2000 or 2003
- Pentium 4, 1 GHz processor or better
- 1280 x 1024 Screen
- 10 MB free space on your hard drive

The download file is 2.3 MB and is a self-extracting zip archive. Download it to a location you can find then just click the
name, PedigreeZip.exe to unpack the archive. The default location is C:\Program Files\Pedigree -- you can change this
location before the file is unzipped.
